Students across Cheshire East are celebrating after receiving their GCSE and vocational qualification results on 20 August 2026.
Provisional figures show that 66% of pupils achieved a standard pass (grade 4 or above) in GCSE English and maths combined, reflecting another year of strong performance by local schools and young people.
Cllr Emma Gilman, Cabinet Member for Education and SEND, congratulated students on their achievements and thanked parents, carers, teachers and school staff for their support.
Schools across Cheshire East are offering advice and guidance on next steps, whether that’s sixth form, college, apprenticeships, training or employment. Additional support is also available through our Youth Support Service.
