Town Councillors are elected for a four-year term to act as an elected body in the first tier of local government. Local Council elections took place in Alsager on 4 May 2023.
The principle job of the Councillor is to participate in the collective decision-making processes of the Council. They are subject to obligations set out in the Code of Conduct adopted by the Council and the Councils Governance documents.

Councillor Meeting Attendance
All Councillors are required to attend Council and Committee meetings on which they serve. The Attendance Log shows all members attendance and non-attendance. The Attendance Log Civic Year 2025-26 table shows the overall attendance at meetings by individual Councillors as a percentage against their expected attendance during that Civic Year.

During their tenure in office, Councillors attend various training sessions which are provided internally by Town Council officers or by external providers. A record of the training undertaken by each Councillor is recorded and three years of training records are uploaded to the website.
