The Cheshire East Falls Prevention Group is promoting Falls Awareness Week 2023 (18 September-24 September 2023), to support older people to understand the simple things they can do to remain safe and active. This year we are particularly encouraging everyone to spread the word to others.
As part of falls awareness week, a number of drop-in meetings are being held at local GP Practices for people aged 65 and over. These are at:
Monday 18th
Waters Green Medical Centre, Macclesfield
Knutsford Community Hospital
Tuesday 19th:
Congleton War Memorial Hospital
Eagle Bridge Medical Centre, Crewe (afternoon only)
Wednesday 20th:
Eagle Bridge Medical Centre, Crewe (morning only)
Wilmslow Health Centre, Wilmslow
Thursday 21st:
Ashfields, Sandbach
Friday 22nd:
Church View, Nantwich
Monday 25th:
Alsager Health Centre
Note: drop-ins run from 9am-4pm unless stated
These sessions will include a blood pressure check and balance screen as well as advice on falls risks.
In addition, One You Cheshire East are also running some ‘Cuppa and Chat’ sessions for older people to talk about how falls risk can be reduced and to discuss the free Stand Strong classes that the service provides.
