You may be aware that Arriva Buses NW have announced the closure of local depots and the cessation of their operations across Cheshire. The last day of operations is intended to be 23 April 2023.
In response, a number of other commercial operators have registered their own services with the Council and the Traffic Commissioners. Please refer to the Information Bulletin which will be issued later today and provides the public with more information about this, along with weblinks to information about the services that will be operating within Cheshire East from 24 April 2023 onwards as replacements for Arriva services.
Whilst not all Arriva services have been replicated exactly, most local bus routes have been covered by alternative commercial routes. Please note that these changes have been possible within existing Council budgets for a limited number of late evening / weekend contracted services.
Arrangements are in place to publish new timetables – at bus stops/stations, on vehicles and through local newspapers and the Web – over coming days. In addition, bus operators own web sites and information have been updated to inform passengers.
Cheshire East Council will continue to monitor the bus network closely over the coming weeks.
