“ Many of us in Alsager are frustrated by seeing the warehouses on Crewe Road completed yet lying empty for 18 months. They were unpopular in the first place but to have them built and unused as the largest white elephants in Alsager’s history is literally adding insult to injury.
The developer has provided the following information:
“ There have been delays in obtaining power to the site due to non-closure of 3rd party agreements which is managed by Scottish Power. A new cable route is now being investigated by Scottish Power with the intention of bringing power to the site in 2025, once the new primary substation is built. We currently await planning permission from Cheshire East Council to build a small brick primary substation on the site. If planning permission is granted, this will be built in July- December this year.
It has been extremely frustrating to have new buildings sat empty with no power for the past 18 months, Scottish Power are now confident that their new proposed cable route and new primary substation shall provide power to this site 2025.”
