As we celebrate the festive season and move towards welcoming in the new year, I’d like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. Christmas and end of the year is a time that we not only spend with friends and family but is also one in which we take time to reflect on the past year.
As I reflect on 2025, we are halfway through the civic year, and it has been an immense privilege and honour to serve you as the Mayor of Alsager.
My personal highlights include welcoming new business to our town, remembering those who gave their lives for our freedom on Remembrance Sunday, representing Alsager to our neighbouring areas and visiting so many brilliant community events that add to the vibrancy of our town.
And while the role of Mayor involves ceremonial duties alongside certain council duties and responsibilities, the best part of the role is seeing all the fantastic work that goes into making Alsager the great place that it is.
Whether it’s local community groups helping the elderly, providing activities for children, keeping our streets clean, providing local services or local people giving their time to assist others and much more – it’s the time that people in Alsager devote to each other, a contribution however big or small, that makes our community and town so special.
So, to all those who do so much for our town I want to say a massive thank you. Alsager wouldn’t be the great place it is to live in without you all.
I also want to thank fellow Councillors and Town Council Staff for all their hard work and dedication this year. I’m proud of the work we have done and proud that the Town Council continues to progress each year, stepping up to do more for our residents and continuing to provide great local services and value for money.
I look forward to the continued good work we will do in 2026.
Lastly, I hope that everyone will get a well-deserved rest, get to celebrate with family, friends, and companions, and most of all enjoy themselves.
As the Mayor, it is my great pleasure to wish everyone in Alsager a very Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year.
