FOOD WASTE COLLECTIONS COMING SOON TO ALSAGER

Cheshire East Council has provided an update on the new weekly food waste collection service, which is due to begin in late autumn 2026.

 

Key Dates

By mid-October

• Residents will receive an update on the service start date.

• New bin collection calendars will be available online, including details of any changes to collection days.

By the end of October

• Food waste caddy deliveries will be completed across the borough.

• Communal food waste bins will be delivered to suitable flats and shared accommodation.

Late Autumn 2026

• Weekly food waste collections will begin.

 

What’s Changing?

• New weekly food waste collections will be introduced.

Black bin collections will move from fortnightly to every three weeks.

• Some residents may have a new collection day.

 

When Your Food Waste Caddy Arrives

Please

✔ Store it outside with your household bins.

✔ Do not put it out for collection until the new service starts.

✔ Read the leaflet provided.

✔ Add the sticker to the lid and write your house number on it.

✔ Check your collection day and start date when details are released.

 

Kitchen Caddies

You can use any suitable container in your kitchen to collect food waste before transferring it to your outdoor caddy.

A limited number of kitchen caddies are available from local libraries and Household Waste Recycling Centres.

 

Missed Your Caddy Delivery?

If deliveries have been completed in your area and you have not received a caddy, or if it arrives damaged, this can be reported via the Cheshire East Council website. For full details, visit:  www.cheshireeast.gov.uk/changes-to-bin-collections
