CHESHIRE EAST HIGHWAYS NEWSLETTER
Our highways teams are out across the borough tackling the rise in potholes typically seen at this time of year – we have deployed additional crews to keep our roads safe and support residents and road users.
During the colder months, some repairs need to be temporary due to weather and the sheer volume of issues appearing at once. These quick fixes may look less tidy, but they keep the network safe until longer-term resurfacing and patching can take place. Every location is reviewed so permanent solutions can be planned when conditions improve. You can find out more in this short YouTube video.
We will be spending nearly £1m before the end of March to address the impact of deterioration on key areas of the network from weather over the autumn and winter. This is on top of our normal spending of around £3m on maintaining road surfaces.
