At the Cheshire Association of Local Councils AGM held on Wednesday 20 October 2021, Alsager Town Council put forward a motion to give more authority to the Cheshire East Council Monitoring Officer to be able to sanction poor councillor behaviour. The Chairman of the Council, Cllr Michael Unett proposed and Cllr Phil Williams seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously approved. The speech can be read here:
