NOTICE OF TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
S14 (2) ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Cheshire East Borough Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers issues this notice temporarily to prohibit traffic in the following length of road:-
Sandbach Road South, Alsager Ward, Alsager, from the junction of Fields Lane to Level Crossing
Audley Road, Alsager Ward, Alsager, from the Level Crossing to the junction of Talke Road
The alternative route will be via the following streets: – Sandbach Road South, Lawton Road, Crewe Road, Liverpool Road West, Congleton Road South, Congleton Road, Newcastle Road, A34 Talke Roundabout At Junction With A500 North, A500 J A34 West Of Chatterley Roundabout, Peacock Hay Road, A500 From End Of North Slip Roads At Porthill A519 To Start Of Easr Slip Roads At Alsager Road, A500 J A34 West Of Chatterley Join Nw, A500 Through J A34 West Of Chatterley Nw, A500 From J A34 West Of Chatterley To M6 J16 Roundabout Nw, Cross Lane, A500 From Start Of East Bound Slip Roads At Alsager Road To Barthomley Roundabout M6, Alsager Road, A500 From M6 J16 Roundabout To J A34 West Of Chatterley Se, A500 J A34 West Of Chatterley Leave Se, A500 Through J A34 West Of Chatterley Se, Audley Road, Merelake Road

Pedestrian access to any premises situated within the temporary closure will be maintained at all times. Cyclists will be required to dismount in order for access to be maintained. Vehicular access will be maintained for emergency vehicles and residents where possible.
The closure is necessary for works to be carried out by Network Rail
It is anticipated that the works will take place on the following date(s): 2 June 2026 ( Night Works )
This notice will become operative on 2 June 2026 for a period of 5 days or for such less time as is necessary to enable the works to be completed.
